For years, I have been trying to lose the last ten pounds from my pregnancy. I even trained and completed a sprint triathlon, only to  gain weight and become increasingly tired. I began seeing Heidi and finally learned how to eat to fuel my body, lose weight, and gain energy. I went to Heidi in order to lose weight but more important to understand how to eat properly. I have Diabetes and most important to me is to control this condition and work towards reducing or eliminating medications.
As a result of our meetings I lost 17 pounds in less than 3 months meeting my goal. This was not a diet experience but learning what to eat and how to manage my diet.

Along with hormonal changes,  my body went through a year of bloat and weight gain, especially around the middle. I had been an on again, off again WW dieter for years and years but this time it wasn't working.  Meeting Heidi and taking things one day at a time really paid off for me. In three months I lost 15 pounds. To say that I was surprised (pleasantly so) with the results that I was able to achieve with your help and guidance using the Metagenics products and procedures is to grossly underestimate my feeling.  As you know, when you first designed my program, I weighed 210 pounds.  I had set a modest goal to lose about 10 of those pounds over a period of three months (I wanted to be beach trim for the summer).  I started the program in March of 2010 and as of this writing I have reverted to the maintenance plan you designed.  By the middle of June, I had shed 22 pounds and am now weighing in at 187. Heidi helped determine what was suddenly happening to my skin and gave me a clear treatment plan.  This was after two months of trying many different things that didn’t help and sometimes made things worse.  I am so glad I took this holistic, natural approach to healing my body.
Heidi knew the skin rash to be Candida and began with treating it internally through food choices.  She assured me that we would heal it and I felt a huge amount of relief!
Although she has a wealth of knowledge, in her reassuring way she gave me small bits of information and explained clearly how and why they worked.  I finally felt I had an understandable map to follow and this eased the stress of trying to deal with the Candida alone.

I have to admit that I didn’t know what to expect, even after checking out your web-site.   Although I have always prided myself on knowing a lot about foods, and which are healthy, I have learned a tremendous amount in the last couple of months – the time went by so quickly!  If anyone were to ask me, I would tell them that the information was presented in a logical, and more importantly practical way.  Even with my crazy schedule I have been able to incorporate a large number of your recommendations into my daily life, and hope to continue to make progress as time goes on.  I know that with the new tools you have given me, I am taking one more step in taking care of my husband and me.

I always considered myself to be someone who ate fairly healthy and exercised on a regular basis.  So I was definitely surprised when my doctor informed me that my cholesterol level was a bit high about 8 months ago.  Apparently it had gone from a steady 187 overall to 219 over the course of 18 months.  My 219 score was a yellow flag for me since there is a history of high cholesterol in my family and specifically because my good cholesterol (HDL) score was barely reaching the recommended level and the bad cholesterol (LDL) had crept over the upper threshold.
Within 6 months, Heidi completely changed my approach to eating healthy by focusing on nutritional foods that satisfied my appetite and left me little cravings for my ole time favorites like cheese steaks, hoagies, chips and sweets.  Instead, I was filling up on organic fruits and vegetables, organic nuts, eating grains like millet and quinoa that I never even knew existed.  My energy level increased and I felt great overall.  The big test was my cholesterol check which provided very favorable results.  I had managed to lower my overall score to 185, and in the process increase my HDL from 45 to 52 (Apparently no known medication can increase HDL!) and decrease the bad stuff from 138 to 115.  My doctor wanted to see my HDL over 45 and the LDL under 130 and he was very pleased with the results.  He even said that whatever I had been doing was obviously working and to KEEP AT IT!!!
