Guangzhou Institute Holds Education-based Poverty Alleviation Activities

To eliminate poverty alleviation by changing peoples attitude and supporting them in education, Guangzhou Institute redoubled anti-poverty efforts to help lift a poor village out of poverty through education by considering its actual conditions. Recently, Guangzhou Institute held a ceremony for donating teaching equipment at Kenger Primary School, Shanghu Town. On behalf of the enterprise, Wen Xiaokui, head of the anti-poverty task force, handed over a batch of books and teaching equipment to teachers and students to support the development of education and information technology and truly implemented poverty alleviation through education. The ceremony brought together 70-odd people from the Town Poverty Alleviation Office, the village committee and Party branch and the Primary School.
 

Kenger Primary School, located in Kenger Village, Shanghu Town, has been supported by Guangzhou Institute for targeted poverty alleviation, with 186 students in 7 classes including preschool and 17 teachers. In May 2020, the task force found in its investigation that the school’s blackboard and other teaching equipment were old and could not be used for computer information classes and that the library’s development was lagging behind, which was not conducive to the all-round development of students. After getting feedback from the task force, Guangzhou Institute took active action to donate books, all-in-one teaching machines, blackboards, etc.
 

At the donation meeting, Luo Wei, head of the town’s poverty alleviation office, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Guangzhou Institute for its selfless donation and various kinds of assistance. Principal Chen Shengyang of the Primary School said that the educational assistance of Guangzhou Institute has benefited students a lot. This batch of materials is the teaching equipment urgently needed by the school. we will definitely make the best use of everything and take this opportunity to improve hardware facilities, develop libraries and enrich students’ after-school life. Wen pointed out that supporting and promoting the development of the village is the common voice of all the staff of Guangzhou Institute. The company will give full play to the advantages of various resources and fully provide paired-up assistance. The team head encouraged all students to cherish this opportunity, study hard and make progress every day, learn skills well and make a difference in the future.
 

Poverty alleviation requires a change of attitude and the support of education. Education has become the fundamental solution to blocking the intergenerational transmission of poverty. Guangzhou Institute’s task force has borne in mind the entrustment of the Party Committee, focused on the industrial development and increased revenue. It has also highlighted education assistance and carried out activities such as helping poor students in online education and donating books and sports equipment to village primary schools. It has aimed to guide rural education to change their mindset and attitude, make up for the shortcomings in education, lend a helping hand to rural children and foster them as talented people, and promote educational equity. The school aid activity, one of the important contents of education-based poverty alleviation, was warmly welcomed by the local government, teachers and students and villagers, achieving good social effects.
